President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris met with the governors in an hour-long White House discussion described by Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz as 'honest and open' and by Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker as “candid.”
A total of 42 challenges were filed against the 27 candidates, meaning some of the school board hopefuls face more than one. Challenges could focus on improperly filed paperwork or the number of signatures, including duplicate names or wrong addresses.
As voters look for an option other than Biden or Trump, alternative Democratic leaders poll similarly or even better than Biden.
Democratic governors spoke amongst themselves Monday and wondered why they hadn't heard from the president since last week's debate. A White House meeting with Biden is now scheduled for Wednesday evening.
