On the eve of the Democratic National Convention in Chicago, the NAACP announced it will bring its 117th national convention to the city. It's been 30 years since the convention was held in the city.
The 52nd event drew thousands of fans to the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont for cosplay and community-building. The expo continues from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
“We want the court to send a signal ... that our members are not there to be basically pinatas and punching bags,” said Fraternal Order of Police President John Catanzara.
