Man pulled from Lake Michigan near Navy Pier identified as missing 'Playpen' boater

A man pulled from Lake Michigan Wednesday was identified as the boater who went missing over the weekend in the Playpen near Oak Street Beach. Tony Jackson, 58, was found about 7:50 p.m. in the 600 block of North DuSable Lake Shore Drive, Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office said. after he fell off a boat at the Playpen and didn’t resurface. An autopsy revealed he died by drowning. Tucked in an enclave between Oak Street and Ohio Street beaches, the Playpen is a popular party spot for boaters on summer weekends in Chicago. The location has experienced its share of high-profile incidents in recent years.Last July, a woman was killed and six people were rescued when a boat near the Playpen. In August 2022, a in a boating accident.A week after that incident a man’s body was in the Playpen area.
