Two teen boys, 16 and 17, were sitting on a porch in the 6700 block of South Loomis Street about 9:20 p.m. Saturday when someone approached and shot them, police said.
Students admitted to CPS gifted elementary programs are three times more likely to get into one of Chicago's 11 test-in high schools than kids who go to nonselective neighborhood elementary schools, a WBEZ analysis of data has found.
The boy was in the 5600 block of South Winchester Avenue about 4:30 p.m. when he suffered a gunshot wound to the thigh.
He was also charged for not having a Firearm Owners Identification card and for using a silencer on a weapon.
