The centre wants to weaken Marine Le Pen’s hard right, in or out of power
No arrests have been made in any of the attacks. The number of shootings rivals Memorial Day weekend, when at least 42 people were shot between 5 p.m. Friday and 5 a.m. Tuesday. Nine people were shot to death that weekend.
“The state can’t give or take away who you are,” said Sasha Buchert, a senior attorney at the LGBTQ+ advocacy group Lambda Legal. “But it certainly is nice to have a gender marker that reflects who you are.”
Graduates marched out of the United Center and held a ceremony outside for students killed in Gaza, saying the university was complicit in the war. Counterprotesters called those statements antisemitic.
