Man injured in crash after being shot at on Stevenson Expressway

The man was taken to a nearby hospital with injuries from the crash, but wasn't struck by the shots, police said.

A person is injured early Friday when he crash into a wall after he was shot at on the Stevenson Expressway, police said.The person was on Interstate 55 near State Street about 1:20 a.m. when someone in another car fired shots, and the driver crashed into a wall, Illinois State Police said. The person, whose age and gender weren’t released, was taken to a nearby hospital with injuries from the crash, police said.Lanes reopened about 7:20 a.m.The investigation is ongoing.
