Gunman fires shot after fight at Eataly in River North

A gunman fired a shot after two men punched him Friday morning during a fight inside the Italian marketplace Eataly on the Near North Side, police said.No one was shot and charges were pending for the gunman, a man in his 30s who was taken to a hospital in good condition. The incident unfolded about 9:20 a.m. inside Eataly, 43 E. Ohio St., when the suspect got into an argument with two men that became physical, Chicago police said. The suspect pulled a gun and fired it during the struggle, according to police. The two men grabbed the gun and ran, while the suspect was taken to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in good condition. He suffered minor injuries from the fight, Chicago Fire Department spokesman Larry Langford said. When paramedics got to the scene they could not go inside immediately, Langford said. “We stayed outside until the scene was safe,” Langford said. He said they found the man who had been “battered” during an altercation.
