Pedestrian killed in University Village hit-and-run identified

A man who was struck and killed in a hit-and-run crash Wednesday in the University Village neighborhood has been identified. Karl Hall, 44, was in the 1300 block of South Halsted Street when someone in a car hit him about 7:15 p.m., according to Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s office. Hall, of the 3800 block of South Wells Street, was taken to Stroger Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 7:35 p.m., police said.The driver fled and has not been arrested.
