Man gunned down in car in Austin

A 31-year-old man sitting inside a parked vehicle was fatally shot July 2 in Austin on the West Side. About 9:30 a.m., Jeremy T. Thompson, 31, was shot when four assailants left their sedan and opened fire in the 4700 block of West Maypole Avenue, Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner’s said.Thompson suffered multiple gunshot wounds to his body and was dropped off at West Suburban Medical Center in Oak Park, where he was pronounced dead, police said. The gunmen returned to the car and sped away south, officials said. No one was in custody.
